Iran fired ballistic missiles and rockets at Israel in response to Israel’s military campaign in Lebanon and the assassination of the top leadership of its proxy groups Hamas and Hezbollah.
“In response to the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah and Nilfurushan, we targeted the heart of the occupied territories,” Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement.
According to Israeli media, more than 400 shells were fired from Iran. The Israel Defense Forces said all residents had been evacuated to bunkers.
