Ukraine has received The first F-16 fighter jet he has requested A US official confirmed that the US had to wait several months to fight against Russian missile attacks. associated Press,
Ukraine has for months been seeking F-16s from its Western allies, saying they are badly needed to counter the onslaught of missiles fired against it by Russia. The F-16 is adept at suppressing enemy air defences.
The US is also training Ukrainian pilots to fly the jet and has already trained the first group of pilots to operate it.
It is unclear how many jets were provided in the first phase or which countries provided them. The Ukrainian government has not confirmed receipt of the jets.
