Despite seeking legal advice and being provided with evidence that the trademark did not extend to personal names, the passport office initially balked at Warner Bros’ letter.
However, after Lucy shared her story on social media, the issue gained momentum and the passport office was forced to investigate. They eventually apologised and admitted that their staff had been given the wrong directions.
