Members of Sheikh Hasina’s team, who fled to India along with the former Bangladesh prime minister following a violent uprising against the Awami League government, have left abroad for undisclosed destinations, top government sources told India Today TV.
Sheikh Hasina, along with her sister Sheikh Rehana and her close aides, left for India on Monday on a military transport jet. They landed at the Hindon airbase near Delhi and are staying in a safe house.
Members of Team Hasina have left India as the ousted prime minister considers her asylum options.
The team that reached India with Sheikh Hasina was completely upset because they leave Bangladesh immediately Government sources told India Today TV that the police had to struggle hard to keep the mob from entering even the Prime Minister’s residence.
They left Bangladesh in a hurry, Sheikh Hasina and her aides could not even carry extra clothes or items of daily useGovernment sources told India Today TV.
He said that members of the protocol office posted with the Bangladeshi delegation helped them purchase clothes and items of daily use.
According to sources, India has allowed Sheikh Hasina to stay in India until she gets asylum in another country. Sources said Indian security personnel and protocol officers are helping members of her entourage to cope with stress and shock.
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was the first person to meet Sheikh Hasina And held a meeting with members of his party. Both sides discussed the present and future plans of the ousted Prime Minister.
