A high-ranking prosecutor in the Bronx, New York was forced to resign from his position after he allegedly attempted to meet a young boy he had been in touch with online.
William C.C. Kemp-Neal, a 30-year assistant district attorney in the Bronx, resigned from his position after a group called Dads Against Predators posted a video online showing him being confronted.
According to the New York Post, Kemp-Neal primarily handled cases of assault, harassment and child endangerment.
The group livestreamed the confrontation on social media, which quickly went viral, sparking widespread outrage and condemnation.
Some people in the video were asking Kemp-Neal if he was Marcus. Suddenly, he began running into the underground parking area.
The men chased Kemp-Neal, yelling, “Excuse me, everybody, this man came to meet a 13-year-old boy.” The video then shows one of the men grab Kemp-Neal and force him to the ground.
The group also attacked the lawyer, questioning his conduct.
However, according to the New York Post, police have not yet filed any charges.
Following the incident, a statement from District Attorney Darcel Clark’s office said that “William Kemp-Neal worked as an ADA here from June 28, 2020, through July 17, 2024,” and that “he has resigned from office.”
