Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for his visit to India on Tuesday (September 3, 2024). Singapore and Brunei Darussalam will be the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister.

“I will be visiting Brunei Darussalam in the next two days and Singapore“During various engagements in these countries, India’s focus will be on further deepening ties with them,” Mr Modi posted a message on X.
Before departing for his visit to Brunei Darussalam and Singapore, Shri Modi said that he is looking forward to his meetings with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and other esteemed members of the Royal Family to take the historical ties between the two countries to new heights.
From Brunei, Mr Modi will travel to Singapore on Wednesday (September 4, 2024).
Mr Modi said, “I look forward to the opportunity to meet President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.” The Prime Minister will also meet leaders of Singapore’s vibrant business community.
Mr Modi said, “Both countries are important partners in our Act East Policy and Indo-Pacific vision. I am confident that my visit will further strengthen our partnership with Brunei, Singapore and the larger ASEAN region.”
