According to the New York Post, a New York City woman has sought a whopping $500,000 (roughly Rs. 4.2 crores) in damages from the Hard Rock Cafe and Hotel in the Dominican Republic after she was injured in a golf cart accident.
Taylor O’Leary, a 27-year-old Brooklyn resident, claims she suffered multiple undisclosed injuries in July 2022 after falling from a golf cart on the grounds of the Hard Rock Golf Club.
The lawsuit, filed in Brooklyn federal court, alleges that the golf cart’s seat was wet and slippery, causing the fall.
O’Leary, who was a guest at the five-star luxury resort, has named both the hotel and its parent company, Hard Rock Cafe International, as defendants.
Known for its upscale amenities and stunning beachfront location, the Hard Rock Cafe & Hotel has hosted many celebrities including Justin Bieber, Shakira and Mariah Carey.
Designed by American golf legend Jack Nicklaus, this golf course is a popular attraction, with green fees starting at $300 (around Rs 25,000).
Neither O’Leary nor the Hard Rock have issued a statement on the lawsuit.
