Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday invited his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi to visit the Himalayan nation.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Oli extended the invitation to Prime Minister Modi for the visit through Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. Misri paid a courtesy call on the Nepali Prime Minister.
Oli was sworn in as Nepal’s prime minister for the fourth time last month after the government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ lost a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives.
Misri met former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at his residence in Budhanilkantha on the outskirts of Kathmandu.
According to Deuba’s office, during the meeting they discussed various matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting, both sides discussed issues related to strengthening Nepal-India relations and furthering mutually beneficial cooperation.
