Nancy Pelosi suggests adding Joe Biden to Mount Rushmore: Such a consequential leader


Top Democratic Party leader Nancy Pelosi has suggested that US President Joe Biden’s face should be added to Mount Rushmore to honor him. Mount Rushmore is a national monument located in South Dakota, on which the figures of four US presidents are engraved.

Former House Speaker Pelosi made the comments on CBS News Sunday, just days after Biden decides not to seek re-electionHe said Biden, 81, is “an important president of the United States, a Mount Rushmore-like president.”

When asked if she was serious about a proposal to carve Biden’s face into the rock at Mount Rushmore alongside George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, Pelosi said, “You have Teddy Roosevelt there. And he’s wonderful. I’m not saying take him away. But you can add Biden.”

Pelosi’s proposal to include Biden on Mount Rushmore has sparked debate, with some comparing it to former President Donald Trump’s previous suggestion that he also deserves to be on the memorial.
