A New York judge has for the third time refused to recuse himself from a case in which Donald Trump was accused of paying a porn star to keep her quiet. The judge rejected the former US president’s claim that there was a conflict of interest related to political consulting work done by the judge’s daughter.
In his decision issued on Wednesday, Justice Juan Merchan rejected the request of Trump’s lawyers in which he had asked him to recuse himself from the first case related to criminal charges against the former US President. Merchan is scheduled to sentence Trump on September 18.
