A day later the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) alleged that some Indian diplomats were involved Murder of a Sikh separatistCanadian Sikh leader Jagmeet Singh on Tuesday (October 15, 2024) demanded a ban on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and sanctions against Indian diplomats.

India has denied the allegations and said Canada is harboring terrorist groups and promoting separatist activities.

The NDP leader, known for his pro-Khalistan stance, at a news conference in Ottawa requested an emergency meeting with the public safety committee to better understand whether they can do more to protect Canadians. Can take steps.

Mr Singh said, “We demand that the liberal government impose severe sanctions on Indian diplomats and expel the RSS, a violent, extremist, terrorist organization, from India, a group that also operates here in Canada and other countries ” A day later, the Canadian government informed him about its stand regarding the allegations against India.

“The briefing confirmed what has been shared publicly that this is a very serious allegation. This confirmed some background on how we got here. What it really exposed is that we have got the Indian government, especially the Modi government, which is linked to criminal elements through diplomats in Canada, who are firing on Canadian homes, firing on Canadian businesses, Canadians. Have proceeded to kill people. This is very serious,” he alleged.

“As the RCMP mentioned, it was also mentioned in the briefing that there are deep concerns for the security of Canada, and that’s why I really believe that if we believe in protecting our country it is our responsibility to “I love this country, we need to do everything we can to keep people safe and keep our democracy safe,” he said.

“So I’m committed to the actions I’ve set out, taking additional steps to see what we can do to keep Canadians safe by holding an emergency meeting of the Public Safety Committee as well as ensuring That we take steps to impose sanctions.” This extremist organization, the RSS, which comes from India, is also ensuring that we impose these severe sanctions on Indian diplomats,” he said.

“Are you being targeted?” he was asked.

“It’s not about me. It’s about the fact that Canadians are a serious threat and a serious risk. What the RCMP described must be truly disturbing. When these acts of violence happen, if someone is carrying out a shooting, if an organized crime member is being hired or is being served by a diplomat, that seems incredibly disturbing. If that’s happening, it’s a threat to everybody who lives in that community, everybody who lives in that neighborhood. When shots are being fired at businesses, at anyone living nearby, at anyone walking nearby, it’s a threat to all Canadians. And this should be taken extremely seriously,” he said.

“We need to work together with our allies to put pressure on India,” Mr Singh said.

“We need to work with the United States. Some similar scenarios have emerged in the United Kingdom. Therefore, it is clear that we need to work with our allies to put pressure on India. But there must be accountability. The Indian government must be held accountable. Modi government will have to answer. We all need to unite as Canadian leaders. We must all come together to condemn Modi and ensure we protect Canadians and put their safety first.”
