Six people were killed and 25 injured when a bus overturned in Turkey’s central province of Aksaray on Friday (October 18, 2024), the local governor said.
Governor Mehmet Ali Cumbuzoglu told reporters that it was unclear what caused the accident on the Aksaray-Ankara Motorway. The bus was taking passengers from the western province of Balıkesir to the Cappadocia region, a popular tourist destination in central Türkiye.
“The injured were taken to hospital. An investigation into the accident has been initiated,” he said.
The accident occurred on a highway in Afyonkarahisar province, about 250 km (155 mi) southwest of Ankara. anadolu agency Informed.
