Watch: Netanyahu slams pro-Gaza protesters, gets standing ovation in US Congress

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received thunderous applause at a joint meeting of the US Congress when he criticised pro-Palestinian protesters demonstrating outside the Capitol building on Wednesday. Accusing Iran of ‘funding’ these protests, Netanyahu said, “I have a message for these protesters. When the dictators of Tehran who hang gays from cranes and kill women for not covering their hair are praising, promoting and funding you – you have officially become Iran’s useful idiots”.

This happened after the House erupted in cheers and applause and the Israeli Prime Minister received a standing ovation after he condemned the protests.

It is noteworthy that protesters demanding a halt to military aid to Israel hoisted Palestinian flags and burnt American flags outside Washington’s Union Station in protest against Netanyahu’s visit.
